Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise

On seeing God’s handiwork…

I love this promise God has given us, “I am creating something new. There it is! Do you see it? I have put roads in deserts, streams in thirsty lands.” (Isaiah 43:19, CEV) However, with all due respect there have been and are times when I can’t see what He’s doing! “LORD,” I’ve prayed,” Please forgive but I am sorry but no matter how hard I try, no matter what I do it doesn’t matter if my eyes are open or closed I am unable to see your handiwork.

I have been a Christian all my life and became a Practicing Christian around the age of 22. I’ve seen and experienced God’s handiwork and I’ve only experienced it. I remember my family was taking a car trip to Yellowstone National Park in 1958. Somewhere in Wyoming the front driver side tie rod on our car broke the front wheel went one way and our car skidded to a halt stopping smack in the middle of the oncoming lane. God’s hand was on us that day because no cars were coming in the other lane and then much to our surprise a car eventually came and the driver help my dad “cobble” up the front end so we could get to a town where my dad fixed it. It was a very visible experience where I could see the new thing God was doing.

Then somewhere in early 1981 came Myasthenia Gravis and after being diagnosed it didn’t take God long to go to work I am not sure whether he was working so slow in me I couldn’t see him or he was working so fast I couldn’t see him. What I do know is somewhere in 1982 I experienced God’s handiwork as the disease went into remission.

Just because we can’t visually see what God is doing in our lives doesn’t mean He’s not working nor does it mean something is wrong with us – it simply means God has chosen to work in the hidden recesses of our hearts.

Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!

Celebrate!

Grace and PEACE, Amen!

Gary
