Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
Yesterday you did not receive your Glory Seed Devotional because it was never sent. I began writing it around 7:00 AM and finished it around 10:30 PM and never sent it. It is a missed an opportunity, a once in a lifetime opportunity that might be forever lost. While it is true I could use it this morning I chose not to because I want to make an important point about missed opportunities.
I am not sure where our seconds, minutes, and hours go as they tick away our lives I only know one they’d ticked themselves away they are gone forever. However, they still exist in our memories but there can be no remembering of anything that never happened. What happened yesterday that caused the missed opportunity? Other than the business of the day I really had no excuse yesterday therefore today I am making up so I am using myself as an example.
We live in a world of “missed opportunities”. And the sad news is we are all contributors. While it is true we are not mind readers and cannot be expected to know everything, however opportunities have a way of making themselves known if we sensitize ourselves to the world around us. For example years ago my life seemed to be on a downhill skid a dear friend asked me how I was doing after telling him I wasn’t doing well my call for help became a missed opportunity. My friend hadn’t “tuned in” to me and even though he missed the opportunity to help me with my burden I did not miss the opportunity to learn a valuable lesson on “tuning in” to people.
There is another side to missed opportunities I need to be pointed out. The example I just used brings it to the surface. Had I not made my need known to my friend the missed opportunity would not have been his, it would have been mine. My question is how many missed opportunities can be attributed to our own lack of asking? God says in Jeremiah in chapter 29 says, “…when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you…” My friend Sue White says, “You have not because you ask not.”
On last thought, the Holy Spirit never missed and will never miss an opportunity because what mattered most to Jesus was and is centered on People and Lives not Profit and Loss. (By the way when the time is right because the Holy Spirit never misses an opportunity I will be told when the time is right to send out yesterday’s Glory Seed.)
Believe! Anticipate! Experience! Be transformed!
Grace and PEACE, Amen!
