Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise

How much do you know about God?

If you think God is mysterious you don’t know Jesus! The most important discovery you’ll ever make in life is all you can possibly know about God is found in the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. You will never be able to understand the mechanics of how that came about but in relationship to your greatest needs the “how” is really unimportant.

During the first session of a new year in school a Seminary Professor asked his class why they were pursuing a career in theology a new student sitting in the back of the class raised his hand and replied, “I am going to unravel the mystery of God.”

“A noble goal,” the professor replied, “that was my goal when I started.”

“Please, sir tell us how you obtained your answer.”

The professor thought for a moment, “I examined my busy college schedule, my work schedule, my social activities, my need for sleep and set I decided to aside 20 minutes every night I could and completely devote myself to unraveling the greatest mystery of all times.”

“What book or books did you use professor,” the student asked.

“Oh, I didn’t use any books,” came the reply, “I decided at midnight each night no matter what the weather I’d go out into the backyard lay on my back looking into the heavens until I solved the mystery.”

With great enthusiasm the young man asked, “How many nights did it take?”

The old professor smiled, “It’s been 15,451 consecutive nights but hopefully tonight will be the night.”

God loved you so much he entered not just the world over 2000 years ago but your world today through the life of Jesus with the express purpose of one day seeing you face to face on His own “Turf” there is no mystery just simplicity don’t miss it!

BE strong in the LORD!

Grace and PEACE, Amen!
