Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise

Unlocking God’s inheritance…

It doesn’t matter how much money you have or how much money you don’t have. It doesn’t matter how healthy you are how poor your health is. It doesn’t matter if you’re living in a mansion or if you’re living in run down shack. It doesn’t matter if you’re the CEO of a successful company or if you’re unemployed. Whatever you have or don’t have YOU NEED TO BELIEVE THIS! “We have this treasure from God, but we are like clay jars that hold the treasure. This shows that the great power is from God, not from us. We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:7–9, NCV)

Your life depends on it!

Breathing, having a heartbeat, and brain activity are all basic signs of life but living life (as Paul presents it above) takes a great deal strength and intestinal fortitude (guts)! The problem is when it comes to living WE ARE ALL WEAKENED BY SIN, “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23, ESV)!

Jesus took our place on the cross and solved our sin problem but no one can take our place in our day-to-day living we need someone who will strengthen, lend us courage, and walk with us every minute of every day. That someone IS THE HOLY SPIRIT! “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:13–14, ESV, emphasis mine)

The apostle Paul goes on giving us some insight on ways we can enjoy our inheritance now. “So we do not give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day. We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory that is much greater than the troubles. We set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see. What we see will last only a short time, but what we cannot see will last forever.” (2 Corinthians 4:16–18, NCV) The combination to unlocking God’s promised inheritance is B – E – L – I – E – V – E!

BE strong in the LORD!

Grace and PEACE, Amen!
