Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
Celebrating the Gifts of Christmas 2015…
Today we celebrate the Present. Before the past, present, and future ever existed there was no history, there was nothing. Suddenly from a world of pure perfection, a world of unlimited power, a world of unrestrained love, a world where there is no darkness where Light reigns supreme the silent voice of God echoed across the great abyss of nothingness. “Let there be the present….,” and the present came into being, a moving moment in time of beginnings.
It has been said the present is an illusion, because time is constantly moving the present is always the past. Yet nothing begins in the past and nothing can begin at a time that is yet to be. The present is the power that sets time in motion. The present is always in step with the beating of your heart and the rising and falling of your lungs. You cannot stand in the past and gaze into the future; you cannot stand in the future and gaze into the past.
The journey of the present is a gift from God, a gift on which a young person can build a life. It is a gift of God from which a couple can build an exciting loved filled life with a past rich in memories. It is a gift of God from which children can gain valuable wisdom, insight, and memories from aging parents. It is a gift from God from which the world can slow down and see the pain and suffering in it and build the kingdom of God. It is a gift of God from which a lonely voice unable to see the value of time can begin see that there is hope, that there is a future worth building.
You are a matchless wonder of God at some point on the journey of time you were created in the present. Do not journey on the road of time thinking that the past is doomed to always repeat itself, because the past is a product of the present. Do not journey on the road of time as some do squandering away the present seeking to discover the mystery of what time is and where it goes. Do not think you can make a decision, follow a dream, reach out for someone, or ask Jesus to be your friend in a time that no longer exists. Do not think you can make a decision, follow a dream, reach out for someone, or ask Jesus to be your friend in a time that is yet to be.
The Gift of the Present is a time when we become present with God and His Richest Blessings come alive. The Gift of the Present treasure it, but do not measure it. The Gift of the Present embrace it, but do not waste it. The Gift of the Present anticipate it, but do not ignore it.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might!
Grace and PEACE, Amen!
