Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
Blow Spirit, Blow!
Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6 ESV)
“The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8, NLT) This morning there is a soft gentle wind blowing across your life coming from the Throne Room where God sits as the Reigning Creator and Sustainer of our lives. There are times when the “noise pollution” of everyday life drowns out the still small voice of God while it might be bothersome and overwhelming for us God’s voice penetrates even loudest noise life can generate as He calls out, “Blow Spirit, Blow!”
So matter how noisy the “storms” in your life are take a deep breath and inhale the following words “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit…” let the Spirit blow deeper in your life than you ever thought possible, allow them to breath God’s love, mercy, and strength into your life at its deepest level. Let them affix themselves to the red corpuscles, the part of your blood that carries oxygen throughout your body.
As many of you know in September of 2013 I underwent heart surgery to open up 4 coronary arteries. While the entire experience was life challenging and changing physically, emotionally, and spiritually for me one particular incident stands out above the rest. For an unknown slice of time (at least for me) since they were operating on my heart my life had to be sustained by someone other than myself. That experience has spilled over in to my life now as begin battling physically, emotionally, and spiritually with the thought of having cancer. I know prostate cancer in many cases (mine being one) is not that big of a deal but still there are times when suddenly not a big deal rears up its ugly CANCER head and nearly beats me into submission. It is then when God’s promise of “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit…” come to my rescue lightening my emotional load, and strengthen my spiritual relationship with my loved ones and my God. If you take nothing else from this Glory Seed PLEASE take this: What God does for one He will do for others! That include YOU!
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might!
Grace and PEACE, Amen!
