Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing

“Do you trust me with your life?” God…

PEACE be unto you!

Star Wars wasn’t the only story that had a prequel your life story has one too. The apostle Paul introduces it in the first chapter of Ephesians. “Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.” (Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT)

Some might say Paul was indicating that God had your life all mapped out even before you were born. I disagree with that concept, I think Paul was saying once you became connected with God through your relationship with Jesus you were spiritually equipped me meet life head on. Warren Wiersbe in his commentary on Ephesians “BE Rich” writes, “The phrase “in Christ Jesus” is used twenty-seven times in this letter! It describes the spiritual position of the believer: He is identified with Christ. He is in Christ, and therefore is able to draw on the wealth of Christ for his own daily living.” (Page 22, David C. Cook. Kindle Edition)

Experience has taught me we do not have a give-em-an-easy-way-out-God instead, we have a I-will-go-with-em-through-any-storm-God. Life has many surprises for us some good and some not so good but because God is never surprised He has pre-equipped us with the “wealth of Christ” therefore everything turns out for our good. Although the Psalmist is referring to “enemies” rather than storms he lays the groundwork upon which we can build a life of trusting God with our day-to-day living. “Teach me how to live, O LORD. Lead me along the right path, for my enemies are waiting for me. Do not let me fall into their hands. For they accuse me of things I’ve never done; with every breath they threaten me with violence. Yet I am confident I will see the LORD’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD.” (Psalms 27:11-14 NLT)

Trusting God always begins in the heart then energizes the rest of us!

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!

Gary
