Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing

There I go telling on myself again…

PEACE be unto you!

I love gospel music. I am a morning person each morning before Patti gets up is my alone time. After fixing my coffee take my glucose reading I plunk myself in my chair, kick back, start my computer click on the link for Abiding Radio and listen to instrumental gospel music (link below). And with my headphones in place, listening to music with a “Jesustune” I start my day by spending time with the LORD.

Second to gospel music is County Western. If you’ve ever listened to Country Western you know while they are songs about everyday living some of them have a “fleshtune” about them. Yesterday the car radio was playing Country Western song titled “Let’s go all the way”. As you can tell by the title it had a “fleshtune” yet suddenly as I heard the words a second time “Let’s go all the way” it was as if Jesus were asking me to give myself totally to Him.

Thinking back on the experience this morning I am feeling a bit like Peter did when Jesus asked him if he loved him. Remember, “A third time He asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, You know everything. You know that I love You.” Jesus said, “Then feed My sheep.” (John 21:17 NLT)

I try to give every aspect of my life to Jesus because of the fragility of my life and many times throughout the day I talk to Him about the real life issues I face. So this morning I am trying to put my finger on what it is I am holding back the only thing I can think of is my anger. Usually when I get angry with someone especially myself I mull the anger over in my own mind, trying to come to terms with it by talking to myself. There have been only a few times when I’ve begun a prayer, “Jesus, I am angry…” Jesus sensed my anger yesterday pointed it out to me and reminded me to come to him with EVERYTHING.

What about you? I told you my “hold out story” think about your own “hold out story” when the Holy Spirit points it out to you talk to Jesus about it.

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!

  1. I like country music as well as gospel , seems that country real exposes all the humanness in this broken world, and sometimes it offers a little redemption also
