Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing

Here is the Jesus YOU need…

PEACE be unto you!

On my computer there’s a “Home position” whenever I hold down the Ctrl/Fn keys and press the Home key no matter what page I am on the computer always immediately goes to the top left corner of whatever file I am working. This morning I discovered I also have a “Home position” bible verse, one I keep returning for a variety of reasons. “Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Well, actually it’s not really the verse, it’s Jesus I need, the words simply remind me He always makes time for me 24/7. While reading the Sacred Space daily on line prayer (http://www.sacredspace.ie/) this morning one paragraph spoke powerfully to me of why I am so attracted to Jesus, returning to Him time and time again. “Conversation requires talking and listening. As I talk to Jesus may I also learn to be still and listen. I picture the gentleness in His eyes and the smile full of love as he gazes on me. I can be totally honest with Jesus as I tell Him of my worries and my cares. I will open up my heart to Him as I tell Him of my fears and my doubts. I will ask Him to help me to place myself fully in His care, to abandon myself to Him, knowing that He always wants what is best for me.”

“I picture the gentleness in His eyes, and the smile full of love as he gazes on me.” Yeah, Jesus is that real to me! When I began writing Glory Seeds back in 2003 my goal/mission statement was “To make Jesus as real as I can to as many people as I possibly can.” Each of us needs a Jesus who lives on the pages of our lives not just in the pages of the bible, a Jesus we can open up our hearts to and confess our fears and doubts then leave them with Him. My goal/mission statement hasn’t changed, I am still 100% committed to making Jesus as real as I can to as many people as I possibly can.

Never in my life have I needed Jesus more than I do now. Multiple times throughout each day when I become short of breath and angina troubles my heart I find myself turning to Him “knowing that He always wants what is best for me.”

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!

GRACE and PEACE,

Gary
