Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing

Your inheritance…

Shalom!

When we think of an inheritance we generally think of things for example when my mom passed away along with my brothers and sister we inherited mom’s estate however, Jeremiah had a different idea of who we really need to inherit not what we need to inherit. “The LORD IS MY inheritance…” Then in chapter 16 of John Jesus puts an identity to our inheritance. “But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.” (John 16:7, NLT)

Because the Holy Spirit is my inheritance I believe in the words of the Prophet Jeremiah. “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.” (Lamentations 3:22–26, NLT)

Every word in every sentence gives all of us the hope and encouragement we need to meet and face life’s challenges head on. However, one phrase stands out for me at this point in my life, “The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.” In the past when life thrust me into a storm the first thing I would do was to search for a way out, but because I’ve grown to trust and depend on the Lord now rather than searching for a way out I search for Him.

And once again…BELIEVE… “The faithful love of the Lord never ends!

Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!

GRACE and PEACE,

Gary

  1. I sometimes feel hopeless, and I remember Psalm 13 which ends with praise. And that old song “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness ” to hold hope and faith in tandem with belief in this broken world is hard with all the sad things happening daily but there will be full restoration and this is from God – have a good day
