Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing
God begins His best work behind closed doors, before you’re even aware of Him. Hidden in the deepest recesses of your heart God is at work doing His best work doing new things. It is only when His work is well underway do we get the chance to see Him in action. “I see what you’ve done. Now see what I’ve done. I’ve opened a door before you that no one can slam shut. You don’t have much strength, I know that; you used what you had to keep my Word. You didn’t deny me when times were rough.” (Revelation 3:8, The Message, emphasis mine)
As you were reading the above scripture what image of a door first appeared in your mind? A storm door? A garage door? A swinging door? A front door? A bedroom door? A bathroom door? A kitchen door? French doors? A patio door? Let me give you some more doors to think about. The door to your heart? The door of opportunity? The door to God’s heart? The door of hope? The door of faith? The rock sealing Jesus in his tomb? I am sure by now your aware the image of a door takes many different forms.
Before going further stop for a minute and consider what your needs are right now, then let the Holy Spirit turn up the power on your imagination. See the door to God’s heart swing wide open, see Jesus standing in the door signaling you to come closer. “I’ve seen what you’ve done, I also see what is happening to you,” the LORD says.
“Now see what I’m doing.” Allow those five words to settle deep in your heart, give them the freedom to open and focus the eyes of faith. Now picture in your mind him saying, “…I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19, NLT) The “something new” the LORD is doing before and after the door to His heart is opened is a new you.
One last thought – it was behind a huge rock sealing Jesus in his tomb where God did his best work for Jesus, for you, for me!
Believe in presence of the GOD and in the strength of his GRACE!
GRACE and PEACE,
