Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing…

The Holy Spirit Out of the Mist…

Shalom!

Before picking up where I left off lets step back one paragraph: One of the most powerful testimonies in the scriptures speak of God in the mist is found in chapter 20 of John. “That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders. Suddenly, Jesus was standing there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said.” (John 20:19, NLT) Suddenly Jesus walked out of the “mist” of fear and into the lives of the disciples. Jesus/God does that for YOU!

Now where did I left off? Oh, yeah… “Suddenly, Jesus the Holy Spirit was standing there among them with you!” You’ve no doubt notice I’ve slightly made some modifications to John’s personal testimony. In case you’re wondering why because that was then, this is now! Jesus IS NOT dead! Jesus IS RESURRECTED! One glorious morning Jesus many years ago walked out of the “mist” of death, stepped into God’s Throne Room and said to the Holy Spirit, “It’s Your turn to walk out of the mist and into the lives of Our people!”

And so it was, so it happened, and so it continues to happen!

Some have said “the Christian World” is in trouble today and while I don’t think I am really qualified to say what is wrong I do feel as if I can make an observation and let “the chips” fall where they may. I feel I can do that because of my own experience with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Four or five years ago I found myself “caught up” Jesus’ second coming. “Jesus is coming again,” I kept telling myself, “and when He does He’ll make everything right including me and my life.” And that was the Rock upon which I built my life. Then slowly and methodically the Holy Spirit began “etching” on my heart four simple words that completely changed my life, “But what about Me?”

I was so fixated on Jesus’ second coming that I was missing the fact that while Jesus had ascended into heaven both He and God returned within the Personhood of the Holy Spirit. This is the age of the Holy Spirit! That does not mean Jesus’ second coming is unimportant is simply means we need the Holy Spirit to get us there first! I have titled this segment Jesus Comes Out of the Mist because the “mist Mist” is symbolic of the Holy Spirit. So the message of this segment is, Jesus comes out of the Holy Spirit to give us God’s richest blessings now not at some later date!

There’s no doubt to the fact that “the Christian Church” IS the Body of Christ but until Jesus returns to take His rightful place as Head of the Body the Holy Spirit seeds, and feeds the Body. And one thing we cannot and must not forget we (you and I) ARE the Church! Jesus comes out of Holy Spirit to seed and feed people just like YOU not buildings!

“May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us.”**

GRACE and PEACE,

Gary
