Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing…
A divine etching class?
I’ve discovered the generic format many of the action shows populating the television channels writers and producers have adopted for their shows. Everything scene leads up to the final 10 minutes then the heroes/heroines claim victory and in the closing minutes celebrate their victory. For those of us who are Christians it’s a very familiar format that’s how God has been, is, and will be bringing His plan to fulfillment in our life.
This morning thinking I’d separated myself from the struggles of my dna (daily normal activities) but when I read, “I think of God, and I moan, overwhelmed with longing for his help. Interlude” (Psalm 77:3, NLT) I immediately became affixed on the moaning and overwhelming dna. But all of a sudden I began thinking of God. Under my breath I whispered, “Hey! Wait a minute I forgot to include Jehovah-Shammah (the LORD is there) this morning.”
I don’t know about you but I keep asking myself, “Gary, why do you keep letting the moaning and overwhelming circumstances take center stage in your life?” I believe a follower of the Glory Seed Blog vann54 hit a homerun with this comment. “I think as humans we are programmed to etch the negatives on our minds so we can learn from them and not make those mistakes again, but we also have the ability to etch the goods things and we do this less often perhaps we need a divine etching class then we will truly see that the Lord is good all the time…”
“A divine etching class” I like that concept however, I suspect such a class would call for a great deal of discipline on our part because the etching process is no doubt quite painful at times. But then according the Book of Hebrews Jesus Himself spent time in a divine etching class, “Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.” (Hebrews 5:8, NLT) Don’t think you have what it takes to become a student in a divine etching class? Think again, because you do have what it takes because of this promise from Jesus, “I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things that I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father.” (John 14:12, CEV)
Class is in session are you going join? If you do you’ll see me setting in the front row!
“May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us.”**
GRACE and PEACE,
