Glory Seed Devotionals, 2016: Year of the Blessing…
The Jesus Driven Life…Lives a life of Prayer…
E.M Bounds writes in his book “The Purpose in Prayer,” The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil everywhere. Prayer, in one phase of its operation, is a disinfectant and a preventive. It purifies the air; it destroys the contagion of evil. Prayer is no fitful, short-lived thing. It is no voice crying unheard and unheeded in the silence. It is a voice which goes into God’s ear, and it lives as long as God’s ear is open to holy pleas, as long as God’s heart is alive to holy things.”
Remember the image of an elderly man with a long beard hanging his head down carrying a sign that said, “Repent! The End is near”?
I’d like to replace that image with the image of a man age 70 about 5’2” 133 lbs walking with a noticeable limp carrying a sign that reads “Unite! Pray! We need Jesus!”
We were created unique – we were created to be individual unique miracles – yet as unique as we are we have many commonalities. We all have blood. We all need oxygen. We all have heads, legs, arms, ears, hips, knees, elbows, eyes, the need to eat – you get the idea. AND WE ALL NEED JESUS CHRIST!
My life’s work is to make Jesus as real as I can to as many people as I can because I know survival will not go to the fittest or the strongest survival will go to those who unite themselves as give reality to the unseen God through their relationship with Jesus!
Let us unite ourselves in one common cause and pray, “Be gracious to us, O LORD! See our afflictions from those who hate us, O you who lift us up from the gates of death, that we may recount all our praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion we may rejoice in your salvation.” (Based on Psalms 9:13 – 9:14)
Jesus becomes real as we “recount all our praises” (rehearse our Jesus story) with each other!
“God, show mercy to us and bless us. Please accept us! Selah “
GRACE and PEACE,
