Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2016: Year of the Blessing…

Christmas, a time of transformation…

The Christmas Story will find its way into the toughest heart, the toughest of situations and begin a transformation that will reach into eternity. The power of the Christmas Story is not only the story of Jesus’ birth it’s the story of God coming into the world Himself.

The Christmas Story is another chapter in God’s Story. The chapter begins by saying, “I am God and I love you enough to come into your life and show you how much I do love and care for you. I have come not to stomp on you as a mighty warrior but in the innocence of baby to you can begin to understand the depth, height, and width of my love for you.”

One of the highlights for me of the Christmas Story is who first heard of the baby’s birth. Shepherds were not only blue-collar workers of their day but they were to lowest of the blue-collar workers. For nearly 42 years I was a blue-collar worker and in some circles well-meaning people, have made me feel like those low-life shepherds. Yet in my mind when I picture the shepherds silently sitting in the hills that faithful night and suddenly heaven opens up its doors and announces God’s entrance into the world it doesn’t matter whether I’m a low-life factory worker or President of the United States I KNOW GOD SEES US WITH THE SAME EYES AND HE LOVES ME JUST AS i AM!

As the shepherds returned to the hills two things are certain – they would never be the same again – yet they were still shepherds. That’s the Story of Christmas in action for me since it’s made its humble mark on my life I have been transformed yet while I no longer punch a time clock and earn a living for my family in a factory I remain a blue collar worker at heart, God’s Blue Collar Worker that is!

The Christmas Story is about transforming lives within the sphere of who they are to a higher/deeper level of spirituality. This year as the occasion arises close your eyes as the songs of Christmas are playing and put yourself into the song and experience the power of the Christmas Story firsthand.

May your focus be on Jesus and may the Holy Spirit nurture and grow the Seeds of Blessing planted in you.
