NSM.2017

The Appetizer… The scripture upon which Natural Spirit Ministries “leans” is from a conversation Jesus was having with is disciples. “If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth… But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.” (John 14:15–17, NLT, selected portions)

Since God is love then that means God ministers to us with divine love naturally. Therefore it was natural for Jesus to heal the sick, open the eyes of the blind, it was even natural for him to take his place on the cross. And because the Holy Spirit took Jesus’ place on earth it only makes sense that the natural ministry of God would continue. But the Natural Ministry of God does not take place in a vacuum, it takes place in YOU!

Please join NSM as together we anticipate and experience God at work in the nitty-gritty-everyday-stuff of our lives.

The Main Course…

Anticipate, the God who sees and provides. “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food. “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life…” (Isaiah 55:1–3, NLT)

Experience the God who sees and provides. “Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life?” (2 Corinthians 3:8, NLT) ”…I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18–19, NLT)

If you have carryovers from 2016 and backwards and I suspect you to you NEED God! I know that is nothing new to you because God and you are a team, an unbeatable team. However, there can be little doubt that those carryovers will still plague you in 2017. However, anticipate, listen, embrace the Holy Spirit, and experience a “new way” of understanding how “..God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28, NLT)

The truth is the new way is actually a way that has been in place for over 2000 years. “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, NLT)

Walking the Jesus Story… Should you join Jesus in his story or not is the single most important question that will confront you every day in 2017. It will challenge you more times in a day than you can ever imagine. If you say yes and walk the Jesus story all carryovers will be illuminated with the Light of Eternity. You’ll never, ever walk alone again.

Jesus divides light from dark, right from wrong, good from evil, eternal from temporal, victory from defeat, and forgiveness from un-forgiveness. When you walk the Jesus story you always will go with him headlong into the everyday minute by minute struggles of life with all its complexities. Together you will push headlong into the struggles of others on their journey; you will be making a difference not only to them but to Jesus and yourself as well. When you walk the Jesus story you will need to roll up your shirt sleeves and get dirt under your fingernails as you help others deal with the carryovers of their lives. It means helping them pick themselves up dust themselves off when they fall and helping them to get started again. It means not only telling your Jesus story it means living it as well.

As Moses and the Israelites made their way across the desert after leaving Egypt they found themselves facing the Egyptian army on one side and the Red Sea on the other side. Face with two possibilities and the improbability of escape Moses turned to God and God opened up a new way, a way no one ever expected. “Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there!” (Psalm 77:19, NLT) After all these years God is still in the business opening a new way where there was no way. He doesn’t use the same methods He used with the Israelites He uses Jesus’ story and the Holy Spirit.

Walking the Jesus story is not painful nor is it hard it is comforting and healing. Walking the Jesus story is the way of the Father, ”…I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, NLT) Walking the Jesus story means each new day comes with new experiences, new possibilities, new probabilities, and new experiences with God not only for the days yet to come but also the transformation of carryovers to left-behind-overs. Each new day comes equipped with its own New Way, the Jesus Way!

Come again and allow NSM to help you discover your pathway through 2017— to a Natural Path only God knows is there!”

Grace and PEACE,

Gary Piper
