Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh…

Our trials give us hope…

Have you heard this before, “God will never give you more than you can handle,” if you have do you believe it? I believe not only does God at times give us more than we can handle but life does as well. And apparently I am not alone in my thinking. Rebecca Van Noord writing in Connect the Testaments: A One-Year Daily Devotional with Bible Reading Plan. Wrote, “It may be that God does give us more than we can handle. But this is actually—perhaps strangely—a source of comfort. If we could handle every circumstance, we’d never reach the end of our self-reliance. And it’s only when we get to the end of ourselves that we realize how much we desperately need Him.”

God goes to great lengths in order for us to have an ever deepening relationship with Him, even dumping more on us than we can really handle. Does it feel as if life and God are dumping on you and God has abandoned you as well? If your answer is yes then relax God has not abandoned you in fact He’s waiting for an invitation from You to be present with you. One of the biggest problems we humans have is a vision problem. When troubles and difficulties come our way from our perspective we see them as burdens, yet if we stop and seem them from God’s perspective they become opportunities.

At the center of our lives there is only room for one person, and if you’re at the center of your life that means that God isn’t. And if God isn’t the center of your life you’ll feel abandoned. While it’s true there is only room for one person at the center of your life when you put God in the center of your life you not only get God but you get His entire kingdom as well. How He does that is far beyond my feeble attempts to understand I only know He does. I know He does because He ministers to us every day through citizens of His kingdom.

That stranger who smiled at you in the store? God sent them. That family member who tried to cheer you up? God told them to throw you a smile. That close friend who encouraged you not to give up? God sent them. This Glory Seed your reading? God inspired the words for me to write.

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”**
