Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh…
#1 Heavenly Peace Circle Place…
“I have asked one thing from the Lord; it is what I desire: to dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, gazing on the beauty of the Lord and seeking Him in His temple. For He will conceal me in His shelter in the day of adversity; He will hide me under the cover of His tent; He will set me high on a rock.” (Psalm 27:4–5, HCSB)
“To dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,” probably for the first half of my life living in God’s house was the furthest thing from my mind but then things started to go sour and God’s house started looking pretty good. And now as I close in on 71 I find myself a part time resident at #1 Heavenly Peace Circle Place. The other day I happened across this piece from from Renovare’s Connecting with God: A Spiritual Formation Guide which does a great job of describing God’s inner workings at #1 Heavenly Peace Circle Place. “This ‘with-God’ life we find in the Bible is the very life to which we are called…. It is a life of unhurried peace and power. It is solid. It is serene. It is simple. It is radiant. It takes no time, though it permeates all of our time.” (A Renovare Resource, Harper Collins, Kindle Edition) Sounds great doesn’t it?
One of my favorite Max Lucado books is The Great House of God in the first chapter he extends an invitation, “Is it any wonder the world is so full of cold hearts? Doesn’t have to be this way. We don’t have to live outside. It’s not God’s plan for your heart to roam as a Bedouin. God wants you to move in out of the cold and live … with him. Under his roof there is space available. At his table a plate is set. In his living room a wingback chair is reserved just for you. And he’d like you to take up residence in his house. Why would he want you to share his home? Simple, he’s your Father.” (The great house of God: a home for your heart, pp. 2–3, Dallas: Word Pub)
Why not take Max and God up on their invitation and join us at #1 Heavenly Peace Circle Place maybe we can sit in the dining room over a hearty meal or sit in our wingback chairs in front of a nice warm fireplace and share our faith story with each other.
It’s cold outside, come on in!
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”**
GRACE and PEACE,
