Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing Jehovah-Jireh…
Adventuring with God…
How would you like to go on the most exciting adventure in the history of world? Already on one, might I suggest you try this one. And how about I sweeten the pot a little and make it easier for you to say, “Let’s not just talk about it let’s make hay while the sun shines.” First of all we’ll be looking for a treasure unlike the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and we WILL find this treasure. And secondly you need not travel for foreign lands, you don’t even need to leave your home if you don’t want to. The adventure I am speaking of is the adventure of knowing God. For some knowing God is an impossible task but what is impossible for humans is “small potatoes” for the Holy Spirit.
I served in the Communication Department aboard the USS Newman K. Perry as a Radioman Third Class Petty Officer. While in high school my interest in communications using radios took root in fact I was a “Ham Operator” holding the Amateur Extra FCC License for many years my call sign was WA8GBO. However, many years ago I failed to renew my license but I have never lost my passion for communications. I still have a transceiver (transmitter and receiver in one unit) so perhaps someday I get licensed again.
Because of my background in communications I believe one of the ways we can understand the work of the Holy Spirit is to act as a “Divine Transceiver” whereby we can communicate with God and vice versa. It is through our ability communicate via the Holy Spirit we can come to know God. At the top of God’s passion is to be knowable, God wants you to know Him intimately not just have a knowledge of Him. The following scripture is His invitation to you to get to join Him in the adventure of knowing Him intimately.
“My child, listen to what I say, and treasure my commands. Tune your ears to wisdom, and concentrate on understanding. Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.” (Proverbs 2:1–5, NLT)
“Faith isn’t hoping for the best life has to offer, Faith is anchoring oneself to the Best God has to offer!”
Grace and PEACE,
