Ok so where I’m from, an AP high school class is the simpler option (the one that will never get you know university). I’m seeing on reddit, though, that elsewhere it’s the one that the “smart kids” take. Is that what I’m to understand here?

Edit: loads of you have pointed out that it stands for “advanced placement” in the US. In Canada (at least in Ontario), it means applied, which would not lead you to university (you’d go to college, at best). For the life of me, I can’t remember what the other option was, which is stupid because that’s what all my classes were. Once white grade 11, we chose between U (university path) or M (college or work path). AP in grades 9/10 would lead you to M in grades 11/12. Anyway, thanks for the info.
