Glory Seed Devotional’s, 2017: Anticipating and Experiencing God…

Unity of mind…

Shalom!

“Finally, all of you should be in agreement, understanding each other, loving each other as family, being kind and humble.” (1 Peter 3:8, NCV)

Of all the goals we need to establish and aggressively pursuit needs to be living our lives in God’s Eternal Kingdom, keeping in mind that does not begin at the point our spirits leave this world but here and now. On the other side if that goal is God who has set for himself to pull out all the stops and see it becomes a reality here and now this very day.

Peter had firsthand knowledge of the difficulties of maintaining his place in God’s Eternal Kingdom…

“He ordered James, the brother of John, to be killed by the sword. Herod saw that some of the people liked this, so he decided to arrest Peter, too. (This happened during the time of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.) After Herod arrested Peter, he put him in jail and handed him over to be guarded by sixteen soldiers. Herod planned to bring Peter before the people for trial after the Passover Feast. So Peter was kept in jail, but the church prayed earnestly to God for him.” (Acts 12:2–5, NCV)

“Peter said, “Everyone else may stumble in their faith, but I will not.” Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, tonight before the rooster crows twice you will say three times you don’t know me.” But Peter insisted, “I will never say that I don’t know you! I will even die with you!” And all the other followers said the same thing.” (Mark 14:29–31, NCV)

Peter knew from experience that it would take a unified body, mind, and spirit to walk the way of the Kingdom. And from experience Peter also knew as united as he needed to be within himself it was not enough, he knew if he did his part Jesus would do the rest. The people of the church prayed for Peter and Jesus sent an angel to free him. Peter repented of denying Jesus was forgiven and went on to leave an indelible mark on world history.

One of Satan’s loudest battle cries is “Divide and Conquer” yet in spite of his best efforts God has a bigger more powerful plan, “I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the Lord. “I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future. Then you will call my name. You will come to me and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will search for me. And when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me!” (Jeremiah 29:11–13, NCV)

Unity of mind begins with you and through your dedication to find your place God’s Eternal Kingdom and pursuit it with the passion God pursuits you!

May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us.” **

Grace and PEACE,

Gary
